BUSINESS PROCESS RE-ENGINEERING

Business process re-engineering is the radical redesign of business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical aspects like quality, output, cost, service, and speed. Business process reengineering (BPR) aims at cutting down enterprise costs and process redundancies on a very huge scale. From our approach, we go through 5 key steps.

Phase 1. Map Current Business Processes

We gather data from all resources – both software tools and stakeholders. We get an understanding of how the process is performing currently. All areas are coovered, including your current business regulations, workflows, supporting technology, work activities and reporting relationships. The idea is to make an understanding of current processes rather than making assumptions.

Phase 3. Identify Opportunities

Keeping organizational goals in mind, we identify and analyse opportunities that can efficiently overcome the inefficiencies identified during analysis. While at it, we try to remember to also identify and validate forward-facing opportunities that are not tied to current processes. For example, what other elements of data capture could benefit your company if built into your new processes?

Phase 2. Gap Analyis

We gather data from all resources – both software tools and stakeholders. We get an understanding of how the process is performing currently. Studying the pros and cons will helps make more informed decisions moving forward. The goal here is to identify any gaps, bottlenecks and general inefficiencies that hold up a free flow of the process to help improve operational efficiency and organisational effectiveness.

Phase 4. Design Future Processes

Intent here is to design a cutting-edge future-state process map. By this, we create a new process that solves all the problems identified. This might mean designing a totally new process that is sure to work well, dont be afraid. It is important to designate KPIs for every step of the process. All this is done in consideration of opportinities identified in the earlier step.

Phase 5. Implementation

Finally, we inform every stakeholder of the new process. Only proceed after everyone is on board and educated about how the new process works. Unfortunately this is not necessarily the end of it all, it is important to constantly monitor the KPIs.
